The book is out there

Bespelled was published on 1 February.

Here is the link to Escape’s website. It links you to the eretailer of your choice. Escape.

It’s a weird thing, but publication day is exciting. It’s exciting when you get the idea. It’s exciting to complete the first draft. It’s exciting being accepted for publication. But having your book out there is exciting on many levels. A bit like popcorn popping in hot oil.

The book is a thing I’ve created. A publisher has edited it, marketed it and put a cover on it and then released it into the wild. It’s a part of me. A sliver from my mind. A fantasy crafted into a story.

For me, there is nervous excitement deep in my gut. I’m eager to know what people think about it. A story is creature of the heart and mind so knowing that it touched someone, engaged them on some level, either a smile, a laugh or a warm feeling deep in their gut, is a marvelous feeling.

Having people read your work is also inspiring. It creates creativity.

I’m hoping to use some of that today and write some more.
